Brass fittings for refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
All fittings described here are not included in the field of application of Directive PED (2014/68/UE) as they are considered as pipe’s components designed and constructed for installation in air conditioning and cooling systems where refrigerants (non-toxic, non-flammable and non-explosive) of group II are used, among which all refrigerants classified as A1 in Annexe E of EN 378-1 (2008) standard, as well as refrigerants R30 - R123 - R141H - R245 classified among other safety groups. The standard includes, among others, the following well-known refrigerants: R12 - R22 - R134a - R404A - R404C - R407C - R410A - R502 - R507.
The sealing system between the end of the male fitting and a nut of the 31000, 31001, 31002 and 31003 series needs a special flare near the end of the copper pipe. Flaring of copper pipes (which is forbidden by the national regulations of certain European countries) can be avoided using a sealing system between the end of a male fitting and an adapter with socket welding shank as the copper pipe end is braze welded into the shank pocket. The perfect sealing of the device is obtained by inserting a truncated copper washer (31017/3 series).
