Category: A3-A2L SPECIALIST
Notes:
Specifically
engineered to safeguard professional installations using A3 and A2L
flammable refrigerants, the Series 40000 (angle version) and Series
41000 (straight version) are direct-relief safety valves, designed
for one-time use and must be replaced after discharge.
The valve
bodies are made to withstand high pressures with dimensional stability, using hot-forged
brass EN 12165-CW617N for the 40000 series and drawn brass EN
12164-CW614N for the 41000 series.
The PTFE
seal ensures excellent leak-tightness and prevents sticking over time,
maintaining stable calibration even after long standstill periods or repeated
thermodynamic cycles. The calibration ring is made tamper-proof by
applying a high-strength anaerobic adhesive into the threads, preventing
any misalignment or unauthorized adjustment. A crimped forged brass cap
permanently seals the valve, making tampering clearly visible and ensuring full
compliance with flammable gas safety regulations.
Each valve
is individually 100% helium tested in an automated test system to detect
even the slightest leakage. The laser marking records the serial
number and test date, ensuring permanent traceability and guaranteed
leak test compliance.
Available
in preset pressure values from 9 to 50 bar, the valves are rated for use
in a wide temperature range of –50°C to +150°C (–58°F to +302°F), with a
maximum working pressure (PS) of 55 bar (798 psi). Certified according
to CE and fully compliant with the PED Directive 2014/68/EU.
Technical features:
COMPATIBLE A3–A2L REFRIGERANT GASES
HFC, HFO, and HFO/HFC blends: R404A, R407C, R410A, R507, R32, R134a (up to +125°C / 257°F).
HFO and HFO/HFC blends: R1234ze, R448A, R449A, R450A, R452A, R1234yf.
HC: R290, R600, R600a.
Products equipped with HNBR seals must not be installed on systems using HCFCs (R22) or any refrigerants mixed with mineral oils or alkylbenzene lubricants.
Our HNBR compound seals have been specifically designed and manufactured for compatibility with A3 and A2L refrigerant gases (as defined in ASHRAE Standard 34). However, due to the countless variables involved in real-world applications—such as pressure, temperature, and mixing ratios—an application-specific validation on the system is always required.
RELIABLE PERFORMANCE EVEN WITH FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS
The PTFE gasket prevents the shutter from sticking to the seat, ensuring that the set pressure remains stable over time, even during extended service or aggressive thermodynamic cycles. The use of hot-forged brass EN 12165-CW617N and treated harmonic steel allows the valve to handle the mechanical and thermal stresses typical of A3 and A2L refrigerant systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
TAMPER-PROOF CALIBRATION LOCK FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY
After calibration, the adjustment ring is mechanically locked using a high-strength anaerobic adhesive that seeps into the threads and prevents accidental or intentional tampering. This is especially critical for flammable gas applications, where pressure integrity must never be compromised.
FULLY SEALED AND TAMPER-EVIDENT DESIGN
A crimped forged brass protection cap permanently seals the valve, making any attempt to open or alter the mechanism immediately evident through physical damage. This provides tamper-proof protection and ensures compliance with safety regulations for flammable refrigerants.
100% HELIUM LEAK TEST
Each Series 40000 / 41000 valve is individually tested using 100% helium, a low-viscosity gas capable of detecting even the most minute leaks – essential for A3 and A2L flammable gas systems. The valve is then laser-engraved with a serial number and test date, ensuring permanent traceability. Every valve is supplied with a dedicated test certificate, fully compliant with the PED Directive 2014/68/EU.
