The Series
18000 solenoid valves are 2/2-way normally closed indirect acting valves
designed to deliver high performance and reliability in professional
hydraulic systems.
The valves are serviceable and built with
high-quality materials. The body and cover are made of EN12165 – CW617N
brass, ensuring mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The sleeve
is available in AISI 303 stainless steel for models up to 1", or in EN12164
– CW614N brass for versions from 1”1/4 to 2”. The core is made of
ferritic stainless steel, and the spring is made of AISI 302 stainless
steel, ensuring durability and consistent performance. The sealing
gaskets are available in NBR, EPDM, or FKM (Viton), including food-grade
options, making the valve adaptable to different operating conditions. The coils,
both in H insulation class (180°C), are available as 9000BH – 22 mm
up to 1”, and 8000BH – 30 mm from 1”1/4 to 2”. The cover clamping
screws are made of A2-70 austenitic stainless steel, providing solid
fastening even after repeated servicing.
The indirect acting principle allows the valve to
handle high differential pressures even with large orifice sizes. The
opening is controlled by a pressure imbalance generated by the pilot
system, which connects the compensation chamber to the outlet chamber,
lowering the pressure above the diaphragm. This imbalance causes the diaphragm
to lift, opening the flow passage without requiring the solenoid to
mechanically raise the seal. The three-chamber system (inlet, compensation,
outlet) enables the management of high flow rates even under significant
differential pressure, making the valve ideal for systems with strong hydraulic
heads or high-volume requirements.
The solenoid is only responsible for activating the pilot,
not for lifting the main shutter directly. This allows the use of low-power
coils even under high-pressure conditions, ensuring reduced
energy consumption and minimal heat generation. The result is a
reliable and efficient operation, fully compatible with modern energy-saving
system requirements.
Series 18000 also represents a cost-effective
solution for professional systems, thanks to the balance between
material quality, performance, and optimized production. The simplified
design helps reduce both manufacturing and maintenance costs, while maintaining
high technical standards.
The valve supports a maximum operating pressure (PS)
of 20 bar (290 psi). The operating temperature range (TS) varies
according to the gasket material: EPDM: –20°C ÷ +90°C (–4°F ÷ +194°F), FKM:
–30°C ÷ +145°C (–22°F ÷ +293°F), NBR: –15°C ÷ +150°C (+5°F ÷ +302°F).
The product is certified according to VDE and UL
standards, ensuring compliance with major international safety regulations.
As is typical for indirect acting solenoid valves, a minimum
inlet pressure of around 0.1 ÷ 0.4 bar is required to operate
properly. Another characteristic is the response delay between the
electrical pulse and the actual valve opening or closing. Depending on the
valve diameter and compensation orifice size, this delay can reach several
hundred milliseconds. This behavior is inherent to the design and should be
distinguished from direct acting or hybrid valves, which typically respond
within a few tens of milliseconds.
